Bricole is one of our awesome students from Class 2, 2018!
What gets you up in the morning, what drives you?
“What drives me in the morning to come to Café Reconcile is the positive energy and the positive vibes that I get coming here. And know that we’re here for a purpose, and knowing that people actually care about me and what I have going on in my life. Like they really want to help me get to a better spot.”
What’s your big goal?
“5 years down the line I would say my goal is to be graduating from college. Cause I wanna go back to college, have a steady job, get out of my mama’s house, and be really independent. I just wanna be more on my own instead to like having to depend on everybody all the time.”
What’s your favorite thing you’ve done since coming here?
“My favorite part since I’ve worked here is working downstairs. I get to meet different types of people as they come in and really see how they are interested in what Café Reconcile is doing. And then when they ask us about our stories, they actually want to know about us as people, like why we’re here. And I think that’s amazing.”
What’s the most challenging thing you’ve done since you’ve been here?
“I would say the most challenging thing I’ve done since I’ve been here is kind of opening up to Mr. O [mental health specialist], because it gets real deep sometimes in our sessions. Trying to tell people about our life, where we come from. And its kinda hard cause the majority of us come from really dark places,… And we’re all trying to get out, and its hard to express that to other people that don’t really know you.”
Best thing on the menu?
