Cafe Reconcile Wine Dinner

Cafe Reconcile is honored to be one of the beneficiaries for the 2019 New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (NOWFE). For the first time, Cafe Reconcile joins several of New Orleans’ premier restaurants offering Wine Dinners that begin the NOWFE festivities. Join us on April 3 for a three-course meal designed and prepared by guest chefs and thoughtfully paired with wine from Trinitas Cellars.

  • 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM at Cafe Reconcile, 2nd Floor – 1631 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.
  • $75 per person, Community Seating

FIRST COURSE
Wine: 2014 Proprietors Reserve Chardonnay
Salad: Baby Arugula, Strawberries, Granny Smith Apples, Candy Pecans, Goat Cheese, Balsamic Vinaigrette

SECOND COURSE
Wine: 2015 Carneros Pinot Noir
Entrée: New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp and Grilled Ribeye, Potato Au Gratin, Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Caramelized Onion and Apple Smoked Bacon

THIRD COURSE
Wine: 2014 SBLAM Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc
Dessert: Strawberry Rhubarb Shortcake with Pistachio Granola and Brandy Sauce

Trinitas Cellars

The 2015 Carneros Pinot Noir expresses aromatics of cherry, cinnamon, plum, and fresh tilled earth. This is a bigger style Pinot Noir, typical of Los Carneros, with a beautiful structured entry and weighty mid palate. Slightly dusty tannin and bright ripe cherry linger on the finish.

The 2014 Proprietors Reserve Chardonnay bouquet is delicate yet rich displaying delicious toasted marshmallows, vanilla bean, and the classic Trinitas signature butterscotch. The mouthfeel on the Chardonnay is full and broad. The creamy texture coats your mouth and leads to a lengthy finish. Flavors of freshly popped kettle corn make this a delight and richer notes of crème brûlée, creamed corn, and butterscotch chips. This classic California style Chardonnay has all the beautiful oaky and buttery characteristics you want with a lengthy but clean finis

The 2014 SBLAM is Trinitas’ Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc and got its name from the unlikeliest of places, a barrel barcode. They barrel tasted this wine and someone proclaimed “SBLAM!” The barcode on this barrel read “SBLAM” which reminded them of the nature of this wine, sweet and sublime!
